Jeremy Lim
Master of Psychology /PhD Candidate
Jeremy Lim comes from Singapore and is an international student with The University of Melbourne. His research thesis is entitled “Emotional and social dysfunction in post-operative brain damaged patients”.
"Throughout my undergraduate and honours studies, I have been especially intrigued by brain-behaviour relationships, and the neuropsychological sequelae of neurological disorders. That led me to pursue my postgraduate studies in clinical neuropsychology. Having studied at two other universities previously, I chose the University of Melbourne because of its well established and renowned clinical neuropsychology stream.
I am enrolled in the combined Master of Psychology/ PhD program which provides me with the flexibility to extend my research, thus opening up opportunities for academia and research work, while acquiring clinical skills to be a clinician. A good training in both clinical practice and research is important and complements each other, because proficiency in one area can be informed by the other.
My experience in the School of Behavioural Science has been wonderful so far, with interesting coursework and good placement opportunities. Coupled with friendly and helpful staff members and fellow students, it has been a conducive and supportive learning environment that I have been in."
