Bronson Harry
4th Year Honours Graduate 06
"I’ve always been attracted to psychology because it is still a frontier science. I spent the most part of my Science degree at Melbourne University doing as many psychology subjects as possible to get a better idea of the field. I eventually decided on the field of Cognitive Psychology which provided both philosophical intellectual stimulation as well as a firm empirical methodology.
In my honours year at Melbourne University, I investigated the interaction between language and colour perception. I found the year demanding but in the end it was a truly valuable experience. The 4th year study continued to stir my interest in the field of psychology. Recently, I decided to embark on my PhD at the University of Western Sydney, investigating the role of emotion and attention in communication. My PhD is working within the ‘Thinking Heads’ project which aims to create a virtual head that can be communicated with naturally."
