Ms Jen Whelan

I am nearing the completion of my PhD in social psychology under the supervision of Yoshi Kashima and Nick Haslam at the University. My thesis examines essentialist beliefs about national identity, their consequences and transmission. My primary research interests include cultural dynamics and cultural psychology, prejudice, nationalism & collective identity, and lay theories & psychological essentialism.
I am currently working as a post-doctoral fellow with A/P Jenny Boldero and A/P Richard Bell on an ARC project examining the congruence between implicit and explicit measures of the structure and content of self-knowledge.
