Brock Bastian is a research fellow who completed his PhD in social psychology at the University of Melbourne . His research has focused on the importance of essentialist beliefs about human attributes for social categorization, stereotyping and prejudice.
Current Research Interests:
Dehumanization as related to everyday interpersonal processes and beliefs.
Psychological essentialism and social structure.
Inter-group dominance as related to psychological essentialism.
Immigration, Asylum seekers and Muslim, non-Muslim relations within Australia .
